This hat i kinda free handed. I got the yarn from A TANGLED SKEIN (ATS). I get my yarn from two places: Micheal’s and A Tangled Skein. Micheal’s recently updated their selection and now have some very fine and soft yarn that i like for hats esp. ATS has yarn that there are no words for, so pretty and such a large selection. In silver spring, MD there aren’t a lot of places that i can go to for really great yarn and ATS is awesome.
I will try to find the name of the this yarn and add it later. Its very fine and soft, as you can see. I used a 5.00mm steel hook.

I was all set to start doing the crochet chart for this and then i got a lil lazy. I do plan on doing it butttttttttttttt later.
I hope someone tries out this pattern and can give me feedback.
Here’s my first ever pattern:
Doily Hat:
To start: Chain 3. Sl st in first stitch to creat circle.
Round 1: Chain 3 (in this and all other rounds, counts as first dc). 15 dc and sl st to close ring.
(Total of 16dc around circle)
Round 2: Chain 3, 1dc in same stitch. 1 dc in next stitch. Repeat {2dc in same stitch, 1dc in next stitch} around
circle ending with a sl st. (24 dc)
Round 3-5: Repeat round 3. Ending with 36, 54, and 81 stitches respectively.
Round 6: Chain 3, 1 dc in same stitch. {Chain 1, skip i stitch, 2 dc in next stitch} repeat until last 2 dc in same stitch.
**There are not an even number if stitches in this round, so jusst slip stitch the ending 2 dc to the initial chain 3.**
Round 7: Chain 3, 1 dc in same stitch. { 1dc in chain 1 space, 2 dc in next stitch} repeat until ending with the last “1 dc in chain 1 space” and sl st to close round.
Round 8: Chain 3, 1 dc in next 2 stitches. Chain 2 and skip next stitch. { 1 dc in nxt 3 stitches, chain 2, skip 1 stitch} repeat until ending with chain 2 and sl st to close round.
Round 9: Chain 3, 1 dc in next 2 stitches. Chain 3 and skip next 2 stitches. { 1 dc in nxt 3 stitches, chain 3, skip 2 stitch} repeat until ending with chain 3 and sl st to close round.
Round 10: Chain 3, 1 dc in next 2 stitches. Chain 4 and skip 3 stitches. { 1 dc in nxt 3 stitches, chain 4, skip 3 stitch} repeat until ending with chain 4 and sl st to close round.
Round 11: Chain 3, 1 dc in next 2 stitches. Chain 5 and skip 4 stitches. { 1 dc in nxt 3 stitches, chain 5, skip 4 stitch} repeat until ending with chain 5 and sl st to close round.
Round 12: Chain 3, 1 dc in next 2 stitches. Chain 6 and skip 5 stitches. { 1 dc in nxt 3 stitches, chain 6, skip 5 stitch} repeat until ending with chain 6 and sl st to close round.
Round 13: Chain 3, 1 dc in next 2 stitches. Chain 4 and skip 6 stitches. { 1 dc in nxt 3 stitches, chain 4, skip 6 stitch} repeat until ending with chain 4 and sl st to close round.
Round 14: Chain 3, 1 dc in next 2 stitches. Chain 3 and skip 4 stitches. { 1 dc in nxt 3 stitches, chain 3, skip 4 stitch} repeat until ending with chain 3 and sl st to close round.
Round 15: Chain 3, 1 dc in next 2 stitches. Chain 2 and skip 3 stitches. { 1 dc in nxt 3 stitches, chain 2, skip 3 stitch} repeat until ending with chain 2 and sl st to close round.
Round 16: Chain 3, 1 dc in next 2 stitches. Chain 1 and skip 2 stitches. { 1 dc in nxt 3 stitches, chain 1, skip 2 stitch} repeat until ending with chain 1 and sl st to close round.
*** At this point the circumference of the hat was pretty close to how i wanted it to be for my head. If its still too large for your head, decrease the stitches some more. I would recommend decreasing every 3rd stitch. ***
Round 17-18: singles crochet in every stitch
Round 19: In every stitch make a 2dc cluster. sl st to close.
Again i hope this works out and i welcome feedback.
